The Non-Resident Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Maldives to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Mohamed Khaleel, presented his Letter of Credence to the King of Bahrain, His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, at a ceremony held at Sakhir Palace, this evening.

During the ceremony, His Majesty the King congratulated the Ambassador on the commencement of his term and conveyed greetings and best wishes to President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and the people of Maldives. His Majesty the King also reaffirmed that the Government and the people of Bahrain would do their utmost to support the Ambassador during his term.

Following the Presentation of Credentials Ceremony, Ambassador Khaleel attended a dinner hosted by the Undersecretary for Political Affairs, Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed bin Abdulla Al Khalifa. Ambassador Khaleel expressed his honor at being appointed the first Non-Resident Ambassador of the Republic of Maldives to the Kingdom of Bahrain and reaffirmed his commitment to working closely together to enhance the existing ties of cooperation between the two countries.

The Ambassador was accompanied to the ceremony by the Minister-Counsellor of the Embassy of Maldives in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Badoora Saeed. The ceremony was attended by the Deputy Prime Minister of Bahrain, and other senior officials of the Government of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
