The total number of Covid-19 fatalities has risen to 290 in the Maldives.

As per the Health Protection Authority's (HPA) information, a 92-year-old Maldivian female passed away early morning while she was admitted for treatment at Gdh. Covid facility.

She passed away at 03:27 am today. HPA has confirmed the death as a Covid-19 related death. This also marks the 13th death in the month of February so far.

The Maldives reported the first death to Covid-19 on April 29, 2020.

The recent surge in the number of cases has led to an increase in the number of daily cases as well as the number of people admitted to medical facilities has been raising as well. Currently, there are over 30 people admitted to hospitals for further treatment due to Covid-19 complications.
