The Non- Resident Ambassador of the Republic of Maldives to the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam, Mohamed Jinah presented his Letter of Credence to the President of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam His Excellency Mr. Nguyen Xuan Phuc, at a ceremony held on Wednesday at the Presidential Palace, Hanoi.

During the brief courtesy call following the ceremony, Ambassador Jinah expressed his gratitude for being given the honor to present his Letter of Credence and to serve as the Non-Resident Ambassador of Maldives to Viet Nam. Ambassador Jinah also conveyed greetings from His Excellency President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and the people of Maldives to the President and People of Viet Nam.

Ambassador further expressed the commitment to work closely with the Vietnamese Government with a renewed focus on enhancing the bilateral relationship, and on focusing on the areas of promoting tourism, trade, and other areas of mutual interest.

The President of Viet Nam congratulated Ambassador Jinah on the assumption of his duties as Non-Resident Ambassador of Maldives to Viet Nam and expressed hope to work closely with the Maldives in further strengthening the relations and increase people to people to contact between the two countries.

During his visit to Viet Nam, Ambassador Jinah will pay a courtesy call on His Excellency Mr. Bui Thanh Son, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Viet Nam. He will also be meeting with senior officials from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, and Civil Aviation Authority of Viet Nam to discuss further exploring opportunities and enhancing the cooperation between the two countries.
