President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih on Monday appointed Hassan Sobir as the Ambassador of the Republic of the Maldives to Japan and Omar Abdul Razzak as the Ambassador of the Republic of Maldives to the Kingdom of Belgium and the Mission of the Republic of Maldives to the European Union (EU).
President Solih presented the two ambassadors with their letters of credence at a ceremony held at the President’s Office.
Before the appointment, Hassan Sobir served as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of the Maldives to the Kingdom of Belgium and as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Head of Mission of the Republic of the Maldives to the EU. President Solih made the appointment at the Minister’s level.
Omar Abdul Razzak served before his appointment as the High Commissioner of the Republic of Maldives to the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka. The President made the appointment at the State Minister’s level.
