Six people arrested for allegedly causing riots during the International Yoga Day celebrations have been released, police said.
Six people have been released so far after the investigation, a police spokesman said. However, police have not yet released the names of the released persons.
The Yoga day celebrations, which were attended by a large number of people, including senior government officials and foreign diplomats, were interrupted by a crowd on the premises violently raising their views against Yoga. They also damaged some items on the premises.
The government has said it will take the matter seriously and 21 people have been arrested in connection with the clashes. They include former MP Mohammed Ismail and two prominent religious scholars, Sheikh Fazlun and Sheikh Nishan.
