President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has sent a message of condolence to the King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland His Majesty King Charles III, following the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.
In his message, President described Queen as a shining example of public service, resilience, and devotion to one’s country and the greater community of nations.
Buckingham Palace in a statement announced the death of Queen Elizabeth II. the statement read that the Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon.
Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II visited the Maldives on 13 March 1972.
With her death, her eldest son Charles, the former Prince of Wales, automatically became king of the United Kingdom and the head of state of 14 other realms including Australia, Canada, and New Zealand.
