A total of 13 people have been arrested in connection to terrorism through a Police and MNDF joint operation.

Police said that Nine people have been arrested from Addu City in the counter-terrorism operation conducted by the Maldives Police Service and the Maldives National Defense Force. In addition, Two people have been arrested from Male’ City, and two additional people were arrested, from K. Guraidhoo island.

They are all local men, police said. However, police did not disclose further details of the operation.

Police said the operation is still ongoing.
