B. Maalhos council has thanked President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih for the work being done to establish water supply and sewerage systems on the island as per his presidential vows.

The council noted this at the meeting with the President held at the President's Office. The council members pointed out how previous governments were neglectful of the development of smaller islands, whereas the current government has been doing a lot of work to bring development even to these islands.

The council members shared with the President the various development projects being carried out on the island along with information regarding what the citizens need there. As such, noting the difficulties with the harbor, the council stated that the people ask for the work on the harbor to be completed as soon as possible.

Furthermore, the council asked to include Hibalhidhoo in its jurisdiction, and also asked for solutions to the land erosion issue and for the development of an area for beach vessels.

In addition to this, the council brought up the issue of the lack of space in the island mosque and stated the need for the government's aid in religious programs. A need for sports utilities was also brought up.

Maalhos Women's Development Committee, too, requested for Hibalhidhoo to be included under the jurisdiction of the Maalhos Council.
