President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has stated last night that there is no need for others to talk about flats and land.
Speaking at the presidential primary campaign rally held at Dharubaaruge last night, President Solih said that the construction of 7000 flats for the people of Male' is underway. And that preparations are being made for the 5000 plots of land he promised to be allocated to Male' citizens.
In addition, President Solih said he would not make the housing issue a vote-seeking issue. He said this has nothing to do with votes and the government will provide land for the people of Male' by the middle of this year as promised. The President assured that flats and land would be provided with no citizen being excluded from housing.
The President said the Housing Ministry is evaluating the flat and land forms. He said that this work will be done as well as possible in a transparent manner. And that more than 16,000 flats, land and row house projects are being implemented across the country.
The President said that the flats started by this government will be completed during this term. And that the residents of Male' who need flats will be able to access them this year.
