Elections Commission president Fuad Thaufeeq has stated that 800 ballot boxes will be set up for the upcoming Presidential election.
Speaking to a local media outlet, Fuad said 800 ballot boxes will be set up for the election. He said that these include areas where economic activities are carried out.
Fuad said that ballot boxes will be placed in foreign countries if there are 150 people to vote in the country. And that the work is being carried out in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In addition, he said that ballot boxes will be placed in resorts if at least 50 people are registered to vote, and they will be placed in prisons if 25 people are registered.
The EC president said 8000 people would be needed for the election and preparations are underway to train them.
This year’s Presidential election is scheduled for early September.
