The COVID-19 epidemic was "most likely" brought on by an incident in a Wuhan, China, laboratory, as per FBI Director Christopher Wray on Tuesday.

“The FBI has for quite some time now assessed that the origins of the pandemic are most likely a potential lab incident in Wuhan,” Wray said in an interview with Fox News.

The remarks follow a report published earlier this week that stated the US Department of Energy had found that the Covid-19 epidemic was most likely caused by a leak from a Chinese laboratory.

Yet, other organizations in the American intelligence community think the virus appeared in the world by accident.
In the interview, Wray also charged that China was attempting to obstruct US efforts to look into the origins of the virus. In the interview, Wray also alleged that China was attempting to obstruct US efforts to look into the origins of the virus.

Chinese officials have angrily denied the claim, calling it a smear campaign against Beijing.

The scientific community sees it as crucial to determine the origins of the pandemic in order to better fight or even prevent the next one.
