Maldives Police Service arrests a man arrested for sexual abuse of a young girl.
Police reported receiving the information of the incident on October 23, 2020. Police officials said that a case reported involves a man sexually abusing a 13-year-old.
Upon receiving the incident report, Police arrested a 49-year old local man who is accused to be in a position of trust with the victim.
Police continue a further investigation of the case. The case will be considered as a serious felony case since sexual abuse and rape are ratified as major felonies in the Criminal Procedure Code.
