Four gang members have been arrested for assaulting an off-duty police officer in Hulhumale.
Police said they had received information that an off-duty police officer had been beaten up. Four people have been arrested in connection with the case. However, police did not give further details as the case is being investigated.
Commissioner of Police Mohammed Hameed tweeted that he had viewed video footage of the attack. The commissioner also praised the sergeant of Galolhu police station for his courage and determination against the criminal group that attacked the police.
CP Hameed also praised the Heathrow police team for their quick action and efforts to arrest the criminals.
The policeman who was attacked by a gang in Hulhumale is currently being treated at the Hulhumale Hospital.
