Maldives Police and the Gender Ministry investigates a reported case of physical abuse of a minor at G.dh Thinadhoo.
In a tweet, Maldives Police stated that a physical abuse case of a 13-year-old was reported to Gdh. Thinadhoo Police Station on Sunday night. Police state that the offenses against children are treated as serious crimes and will be investigated with utmost diligence.
In a tweet, the Ministry of Gender, Family, and Social Services has also confirmed that the investigation is underway for the reported physical abuse case of a 13-year-old minor.
The case was reported to the Police by a local individual. He has said that he had heard the child crying and begging up to the 3rd floor. Although he has described it on Twitter, he has deleted his initial tweet as those who commented in his tweet shared family details in connection to the victim.
