The MDP presidential candidate and current president, Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, stated that his opponents will neglect the needs of island communities outside the capital.

He made the statement while addressing a Presidential campaign rally held in Hdh. Finey Island today.

Speaking at the rally today, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih said the people should vote for him in the presidential election, as it is the only way to bring in developments for the islands. He reassured that no votes for him will go to waste.

The President said that compared to the past, more work has been done in the past five years for the development of the country. He said that the development works are visible in all the islands of the country and that he will continue to work for the development of the country.

However, the rival candidates will put forward their own interests and benefits, said President Solih. He also accused his opponents of deliberately supporting taking the presidential election to a second round.

"(Looking at) the work that has been done in the last 40 years, 50 years, and the changes that have been brought to these islands in these five years, I would say if one of them is entrusted with this, they will not do any of this. There are those who are running for their own benefit, and they will not care about the people. They will want to continue to do what is beneficial for them,” he said.
