President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has concluded his visit to Lhaviyani Atoll and arrived back in Malé, this Friday morning. President Solih visited two islands of Lhaviyani Atoll during his trip - Maafilaafushi and Felivaru.
The main purpose of the President's visit was to officiate the closing ceremony of the Maldives National Defense Forces’ (MNDF’s) 66th basic training course, held yesterday morning at Maafilaafushi. He also officially inaugurated 'The Basic School’ (TBS), a military training school under MNDF in the island.
During his trip, President Solih visited Felivaru Island and toured the Felivaru Fisheries Complex, the Fisherman’s Marina Hall and observed the layout, drawings and new site allocated for the proposed 4000 MT cold storage facility in the Island. He also interacted with local fishermen, aboard their vessel docked at Felivaru Island Harbour, who shared their concerns and suggestions with the President.
