The top court of the United Nations on Friday ordered Israel to take all measures to prevent the commission of genocide in Gaza.

The International Court of Justice (ICJ) announced the ruling in favor of South Africa, which filed a case against Israel accusing genocidal intent against the Palestinians in Gaza. South Africa on ICJ demanded an emergency suspension of Israel’s military campaign in Gaza, where it says Israel is committing genocide against Palestinians.

During today's hearing, ICJ ordered Israel to take all measures to prevent the commission of genocide in Gaza, in addition to calling Israel to ensure that the military does not commit any acts of genocide.

The court also asked Israel to take all measures to punish all public solicitations for genocide and to take immediate and effective measures to address adverse conditions to life in the Gaza Strip.

Furthermore, ICJ ordered Israel to take effective measures to preserve evidence of actions impacting the Genocide convention and submit to the court a report of all measures taken to follow the orders of this court within one month.

The court's ruling indicated that it would not comply with Israel's request to dismiss the case.
