Parliament member Ms Rozaina says that the publications of expenses related to covid was decided through the parliament to work against corruption.

Through the audit reports published so far on the expenses related to covid by the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Tourism, Aasandha, NSPA, and National Disaster Management Authority, audit reports show corruption involvement.

In regards to this, parliament member Ms Rozaina tweeted that the publications of expenses related to covid was decided through the parliament to work against corruption and to find if anyone is stealing. The decision was made through a super majority parliament of the Maldivian Democratic Party. And it was decided that the audit report of the government entities should be published every 3 months during the ongoing pandemic. She added to her tweet that these audits are not done upon opposition requests, but this shows that President Ibrahim Solih is against theft and the Auditor General is independent today.

National Disaster Management Authority’s audit reports show purchase of rate control goods at an expensive price along with not knowing of what happened to the free support goods received for the authority. And the Health Ministry’s audit report shows corruption involvement on the purchase of ventilators.
