Former president Mr. Mohamed Nasheed suggests that a second term of presidency for Ibrahim Solih can be confirmed only through a parliamentary system
Former president Mr. Mohamed Nasheed, has always been a supporter of the parliamentary system and he has promoted the parliamentary system during the elections held in 2007 to decide the views of the Maldivians to continue the Maldives constituency through the parliamentary system.
In Regards to the Mr. Mohamed Nasheed’s work on promoting a parliamentary system, the president Ibrahim Solih has said that he does not have time to think about changing the presidency to a parliamentary system and he wants to spend all his time to fulfil his promises to the people of the Maldives. He also said that this is not even the correct time to think about it as well.
President further added that the people of the Maldives had already decided on this during the 2007 elections and the people chose presidency over the parliamentary system and if needed to revisit the options, the people of the Maldives will decide.
