President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has accepted an invitation from Prime Minister Narendra Modi to attend the swearing-in ceremony of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers of the Government of India. The invitation was formally presented by Munu Mahawar, High Commissioner of the Republic of India to the Republic of Maldives, during a courtesy call at the President's Office.

During the meeting, High Commissioner Mahawar extended greetings from Prime Minister Modi, expressing the Prime Minister’s anticipation of President Muizzu's attendance at the significant event, marking Modi's third swearing-in as Prime Minister of India. The President conveyed his gratitude for the invitation, expressing his honor to be part of this historic occasion.

President Muizzu emphasized the importance of the Maldives-India relationship, noting that the upcoming visit would underscore the positive trajectory of bilateral ties. He expressed his eagerness to collaborate with Prime Minister Modi to further strengthen the close relations between the two nations.
