Union Minister of the Government of India, Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, paid a courtesy call to President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu in New Delhi this morning. The meeting centered on enhancing bilateral cooperation, with both leaders expressing their commitment to deepening ties in areas of shared values and mutual interests.

President Muizzu conveyed his gratitude to Prime Minister H.E. Narendra Modi and the Government of India for their continued support to the Maldives over the years. He emphasized the honor he felt in attending the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister Modi, which marked a significant event in Indo-Maldivian relations.

Minister Jaishankar reciprocated the sentiments, expressing appreciation for President Muizzu's presence at the swearing-in event. He highlighted the importance of Maldives-India relations and the mutual benefits of ongoing collaboration.

The meeting concluded with the President and the Minister reaffirming their dedication to strengthening Maldives-India cooperation in the coming years. They agreed to focus on various sectors where both nations could benefit from enhanced partnership.



Dr. Jaishankar, who served as the Minister of External Affairs during Prime Minister Modi's previous term, reiterated India's commitment to working closely with the Maldives to address regional challenges and promote sustainable development.
