Despite the new lower limits on Bank of Maldives (BML) Debit and Credit cards for Foreign Transactions, BML confirms its support with temporary changes to the card limit, to all medical and education payments through cards.
BML has suggested requesting for temporary change to the card limit for medical or education payments through internet banking along with supporting documents. To apply for temporary change to the card limit, customers can choose “Temporary card limit” from the drop down menu for service type and continue. BML will reach its customers within 24-hours once the customer's request is processed.
BML also announced that the new limits do not apply to customers using USD Booking Portal and for withdrawals through USD ATMs. Hence the customers travelling abroad can continue to book up to USD 500 through Booking Portal and customers living in Maldives can continue to withdraw up to USD 2,000 per month through USD ATMs.
