In a special operation conducted last night, two Bangladeshi nationals were arrested for allegedly selling dollars on the black market.
The Immigration authority announced the arrests in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter.
The operation took place near a dollar ATM, a known hotspot for black market currency transactions involving foreigners. The two men apprehended are illegal immigrants and are currently in Immigration custody for questioning.
This incident follows a similar crackdown earlier this year. On March 9, six foreigners were arrested and subsequently deported for their involvement in the illegal sale of dollars. The authorities have been vigilant in monitoring and curbing such activities to maintain financial order.
