President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has created a Spokesperson's position at the President's Office this Sunday. The President made the appointment at the Deputy Minister level.

He has appointed Mohamed Mabrook Azeez to the newly created spokesperson's position.

President Solih created the post on January 1, 2021, and with the new changes, all inquiries related to the media and communications at the President's Office would be directed to Mohamed Mabrook Azeez. Previously, all queries related to the media and communications at the President's Office was managed by Ibrahim Hood. Hood will be continuing his position as the Chief Communications Strategist at the President's Office.

Mohamed Mabrook Azeez has been well known to the public as the spokesperson of the National Health Emergency Operations Centre, created in response to the Covid-19 pandemic. Back then, he held the position of undersecretary at the President's Office.
