January 13th, the Health Protection Agency (HPA) of the Maldives has reported 59 additional cases of Covid-19 within 24 hours.
The total positive cases recorded includes 17 people infected in the greater Male’ area and 42 people infected outside the greater Male’ area. This includes 33 people positive from operational resorts. Out of the 33 new cases from resorts, 27 are reported from Oblu select at Sangeli resort.
With additional cases of the Covid-19, confirmed cases in the Maldives have increased up to 14,277 cases, including 783 active cases to Covid-19 recorded within the last 24 hours.
So far, HPA has taken 351,491 test samples for Covid-19, while HPA has taken 3,318 test samples within the last 24 hours.
HPA also reported that 36 people have recovered in the last 24 hours, which increases the total recoveries to 13,438.
According to HPA, there are 55 patients admitted to hospitals, and the Maldives has recorded 49 deaths from Covid-19 complications.
