The Health Emergency Operation Centre (HEOC) has reported that 32 people are reported positive for Covid-19 from OBLU SELECT at Sangeli resort.
As per the recent statistics, HEOC has informed 59 additional cases of Covid-19 within 24 hours on Wednesday. This includes 33 people positive from operational resorts, and out of the 33 new Covid-19 cases from resorts, 27 are reported from Oblu select at Sangeli resort.
The resort reported the first Covid-19 case on January 3. After which, 04 additional employees who showed symptoms were tested positive for Covid-19 on Monday. After which, random samples were taken from the resort. Out of the 98 random samples taken, 19 test samples were positive for Covid-19. In addition to this, 08 people who showed symptoms were tested and reported positive to Covid-19 on Wednesday.
Following all the Covid-19 test samples taken from the resort, HEOC has confirmed that so far, 32 people are reported positive for Covid-19 from OBLU SELECT at Sangeli resort.
Meanwhile, HEOC has already informed that more Covid-19 clusters are being recorded from tourist facilities. As per recent statistics, from SunSiyam Olhuveli resort, 24 Covid-19 cases were recorded, plus from Biyadhoo Island resort, 53 Covid-19 cases. Also, Covid-19 cases have been reported recently from Niyama Maldives resort and a Safari.
HEOC also informed that there are 152 active cases to Covid-19 from the tourist facilities.
