January 16th, the Health Protection Agency (HPA) of the Maldives has reported 87 additional cases of Covid-19 within 24 hours.
The total positive cases recorded includes 30 people infected in the greater Male’ area and 57 people infected outside the greater Male’ area. This includes 41 people positive from operational resorts and 13 people positive from inhabited islands.
With additional cases of the Covid-19, confirmed cases in the Maldives have increased up to 14,426 cases, including 901 active cases to Covid-19 recorded within the last 24 hours.
So far, HPA has taken 361,891 test samples for Covid-19, while HPA has taken 3,331 test samples within the last 24 hours.
HPA also reported that 31 people have recovered in the last 24 hours, which increases the total recoveries to 13,505.
According to HPA, there are 68 patients admitted to hospitals, and the Maldives has recorded 49 deaths from Covid-19 complications.
