Police and Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) starts receiving government allowances for frontline workers of covid-19.

Although the allowance has been distributed to many other authorities, Police and MNDF is the last to receive the allowance. Government stated that this is due to the change brought in the allowance distribution.

The Ministry of Finance states that the total allowance to Police and MNDF goes up to 80 Million MVR and the allowance released currently is for the frontline work from March 7th to July 15. The Ministry of Finance ensures that for future allowance distribution will have a proper set process to follow.

A lot of people who have received the allowance have criticised, on how the allowance has been distributed and how unfairly it was distrubet so far.
