The Health Protection Agency (HPA) has announced a curfew on the greater Male’ area from last midnight.
As per the statement released by HPA, Male’, Hulhumale’, and Vilingili will be under curfew from this Wednesday onwards, restricting any movements out on the streets from midnight till morning 04:00. With the new measures introduced through the statement released, gatherings such as parties, ceremonies, and functions are restricted.
The statement also reads that anyone traveling from Male’, Hulhumale’, and Vilingili to any other islands will have to undergo mandatory quarantine. In addition, anyone traveling to the Maldives from abroad, besides tourists, also have to undergo a mandatory quarantine period of 10 days.
The previously ease restrictions have been reverted due to the increased number of positive cases. Likewise, the restrictive measures are set once again in expectation to decrease further spreading of Covid-19.
