Foreign Minister Dr. Abdulla Khaleel has called for the restoration of human dignity and the protection of the lives of the Palestinian people.
His remarks came during the high-level segment of the 58th session of the Human Rights Council in Geneva, Switzerland.

However, he emphasized that halting the violence alone was not a permanent solution to the conflict. He stated that merely rebuilding the buildings destroyed by Israeli aggression would not suffice; rather, the focus must be on restoring the fundamental rights, human dignity, and lives of the Palestinian people.
The Minister also reflected on the Maldives' active role as a member of the Human Rights Council, underscoring the nation’s contributions to the promotion of global human rights. Dr. Khaleel specifically highlighted the Maldives’ efforts in establishing a voluntary trust fund to facilitate the participation of Small Island Developing States (SIDS) in the Council’s work.
