The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Moosa Zameer, will undertake an official visit to Colombo, Sri Lanka, from June 3 to June 6, 2024. The visit is at the invitation of M.U.M. Ali Sabry, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during his visit, Minister Zameer is scheduled to pay courtesy calls on His Excellency Ranil Wickremesinghe, President of Sri Lanka, and His Excellency Dinesh Gunawardena, Prime Minister of Sri Lanka. Additionally, he will hold bilateral talks with Foreign Minister Ali Sabry to explore avenues for further strengthening the longstanding bilateral relations between the two countries. Discussions will also include the provision of convenient facilities for Maldivians residing in Sri Lanka.
Minister Zameer will be accompanied by Sheryna Abdul Samad, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Shiruzimath Sameer, Additional Secretary, and Ms. Aishath Fareena, Director General at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The visit aims to enhance cooperation and reinforce the friendly ties between the Maldives and Sri Lanka, focusing on mutual interests and the well-being of Maldivians in Sri Lanka.
