Former President of the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) Ibrahim Ismail has revealed that he stopped attending party meetings due to the inclusion of individuals he described as former rebels in key positions.

In a social media post, Ibrahim Ismail, widely known as Ibra, recalled events surrounding the controversial February 7 change of government, which led to the ousting of former President Mohamed Nasheed. He expressed his dissatisfaction with the decision to allow those involved in the political shift to occupy prominent seats at MDP meetings.

Ibra noted that their presence made it difficult to focus on discussions and undermined his engagement in the party. He also emphasized that personal integrity and values held greater importance than political power.
